A catch-all mailbox receives email messages sent to invalid addresses under the very same domain name. For example, a message sent to the mistyped suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. In this way, you can get email messages from partners or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling mistake or to an out-of-date one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Just one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for such a mailbox. This is so because of the fact that at a certain moment you may begin receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation means that the spam will not be delivered to a 3rd-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting
You will be able to configure a catch-all e-mailbox easily in case you’ve got a shared hosting account with us. The Email Manager in our in-house created Hepsia hosting Control Panel is fully featured, yet amazingly simple to use, and it will permit you to activate different options, including the catch-all one, with just a few clicks. All the mailboxes that you’ve got will be listed in alphabetical order in this section and on the right side of each of them you will find a small-size "Catch-all" sign. Clicking it once will activate the feature, clicking it again will disable it. As you can have only one such mailbox per domain name, our system will inform you if you’ve already got another one with this option activated or if you’ve got activated email forwarding.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting
A catch-all address can be set up with a couple of clicks in case you’ve got a Linux semi-dedicated hosting package with us. The hosting account will be managed via our custom-built Hepsia Control Panel and you will be able to create mailboxes under any domain name hosted there. To enable the catch-all option for a mailbox, you will have to click on the icon with the exact same name, which will be next to each email address. Disabling this functionality can be done in the exact same manner and will not require more than one click either. In case the catch-all functionality has already been enabled for a particular domain, you will get a notification. The same goes if the mailbox that you want to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never alter or deactivate anything automatically.
